Gastritis – is an inflammatory or inflammatory-degenerative change of the mucous membranes – a collective term used to designate different inflammatory and degenerative changes of the mucous coat of stomach by origin and manifestation. The mucosal can be primary, considered as a distinct disease, or secondary caused by other infectious and non-infectious diseases or intoxication. Depending on the intensity and action duration of deterioration factors the pathological process may be acute, especially arising with inflammatory or chronic changes – accompanied by a restructuring and progressive atrophy of the mucous membrane. Consequently there are two main forms of gastritis: acute gastritis and chronic gastritis.
Causes of occurrence.
The main reasons that cause the inflammatory process on the level of gastric mucosal (gastritis) are as follows: chronic complaints in the morning, long unessential thought, overeating, irregular eating, excessive use of cold and spicy foods, alcohol.
The treatment of gastritis by modern methods includes the diet and prescription of medicines. The medical treatment of gastritis depending on the diagnosis consists of substances and medicines that reduce the secretion of hydrochloric acid, antispasmodics, sedative drugs. All these short-acting drugs have serious side effects: constipation, fecal color change, potency decrease, urinary disorders, liver dysfunction, change of taste and appetite. The gastritis treatment by methods of Chinese medicine does not have side effects.
Symptoms:
- In Chinese medicine the diseases of the stomach and therefore the symptoms of gastritis are classified in syndromes as follows:
- Fast-food or poorly chewed food and nutrition “dry” violates the mucous membrane mechanically.
- Eating too hot or too cold causes gastritis due to thermal damage of gastric mucous coat.
- Eating spicy (very spicy or salty foods) irritates the mucous coat of stomach similar to the effect of action of caustic chemical substances.
For each of these syndromes of gastritis within the treatment there are special recommendations relating the alimentation, herbal preparations administration and especially therapeutic procedures. In most of the cases it is realized a positive effect of treatment made by methods of Chinese medicine (acupuncture, acupressure, heating with sagebrush cigars, vacuum therapy, stone therapy, hirudotherapy and phytotherapy).
